The executive board for the Connecticut Union of College Republicans was elected this past Sunday, April 19th at the CUCR annual convention. The convention took place at the University of Connecticut.
Jason Gould, a junior at the University of Connecticut, was unanimously re-elected as Chairman. Jason helped to lead the CUCR through a successful election season with some of the accomplishments including increased recruitment, a successful trip to CPAC and an exciting CUCR Convention. Jason looks to continue to improve the CUCR with a focus this year of increased communication and recruitment.
Elissa Voccola, a junior at Western Connecticut State University was elected to be First Vice Chairwoman. Elissa brings a vast amount of recruiting experience to the CUCR as she started the chapter 2 years ago and it has grown to over 50 members leading WCSU to win Chapter of the Year at the convention! In the past year Elissa has lead protests, worked on the Cappiello congressional campaign and helped out the CT GOP. At the CUCR Convention Elissa was awarded “College Republican of the year”!
Mytheos Holt, a junior at Wesleyan University was elected as Second Vice Chairman. Mytheos brings great communication skills to the CUCR as he has won a number of awards for public speaking. This past year, Wesleyan University began to produce a publication known as the Wesleyan Witness, of which Mytheos is editor. He also played an instrumental part in helping Wesleyan to win “Most Improved Chapter” at the CUCR Convention.
Christopher Kito, a junior at Quinnipiac University, was re-elected as Secretary. Christopher has helped to improve communication in the past year in Connecticut and was instrumental in planning for CPAC. Chris intends to work on improving communication around the state and promoting the causes of the CUCR.
The CUCR E-Board is excite to begin another year and looks forward to working with, and improving the Connecticut Union of College Republicans
